Devourment is an American brutal death metal band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 1995. Known for their extremely heavy, down-tuned sound and use of slam riffs, they are considered pioneers of the slam death metal subgenre. Their 1999 debut album Molesting the Decapitated is a landmark release in the style.
