Prensa Latina is Cuba's official state news agency, founded in 1959 shortly after the Cuban Revolution. It was established to provide Latin American and international news coverage from a Cuban perspective. The agency has maintained extensive photo archives documenting Cuban history, including the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.
