Sally Rand was an American burlesque dancer and entertainer who rose to fame in the 1930s. She is best known for her fan dance, a sensual performance using large ostrich-feather fans, which she debuted at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair. Her act made her one of the most iconic figures in American burlesque history.
