The Goo Goo Dolls are an American rock band formed in Buffalo, New York in 1986. Known for their polished alternative rock and pop-rock sound, they rose to mainstream fame in the late 1990s. Their hit single "Iris," from the 1998 film City of Angels, became one of the best-charting singles in Billboard history.
