The New JBs are a funk band led by trombonist Fred Wesley, a key figure in James Brown's original JBs. The group carries on the hard-driving, horn-heavy funk tradition of the classic JBs, with Wesley's trombone at the center of the sound. They are closely associated with the golden era of funk from the 1970s.
