Wicked is a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel. It tells the backstory of the witches of Oz, focusing on the friendship between Elphaba and Glinda. Since its 2003 Broadway debut, it has become one of the longest-running and highest-grossing musicals in history.
