This session examines the healthcare system's role in responding to substance use disorders, with a particular focus on hospital and clinical settings. It covers strategies for improving identification, engagement, and support for patients with substance use disorders, and explores opportunities to better integrate behavioral health services into medical care.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe the role of hospitals and healthcare providers in treating substance use disorders; identify key considerations for engaging and supporting patients with substance use and behavioral health needs in clinical settings; and explain the value of integrating addiction care into diverse practice settings to improve coordination and patient outcomes.
