Nevada Wildfire Awareness Month Virtual Book Club

University of Nevada, Reno Extension's Living With Fire program is hosting a virtual book club this May centered on Fire Weather by John Vaillant. Nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, the book tells the story of the 2016 megafire that burned through the Canadian town of Fort McMurray, weaving together community experiences of the disaster and examining how a changing climate is shaping modern wildfires. Robert Macfarlane, author of Underland, describes it as a book that "grips like a philosophical thriller, warns like a beacon, and shocks to the core."

Participants will meet online on May 26 to discuss the book together.
