The Home Horticulture Certificate Program, developed by the University of Nevada, Reno Extension Horticulture team, provides basic horticulture education to homeowners, educators, and anyone interested in Nevada landscapes and plants. Topics cover gardening specific to Southern Nevada, Northern Nevada, and rural counties. This program is also a prerequisite for those interested in becoming a Master Gardener volunteer.
The program is conducted entirely online and includes pre-recorded lectures, reading, homework, and live Q&A sessions with horticulture professionals every Thursday from 12–1 p.m. More information about the Master Gardener program is available on the University of Nevada, Reno Extension website.
Course information will be emailed to participants on July 30th after registration closes. Emails will come from ExtensionMasterGardener@unr.edu — check your spam or junk folder and add that address to your contacts.
A nonrefundable administrative fee of 25% of the total registration fee applies to participant-initiated refunds before the class begins. No refunds are issued after materials have been shared, and Eventbrite processing fees are nonrefundable. Persons needing special accommodations should contact Paul Lessick, civil rights and compliance coordinator, at plessick@unr.edu or 702-257-5577 at least five days before the event.
