Godfrey
StandUpLive Phoenix, Phoenix
Godfrey grew up in Chicago, where his Nigerian parents inadvertently fueled his comedic instincts by introducing him to classic comedy films early on. While doing impressions of his college football teammates, he recognized that his irreverent style was more than a hobby. He has since built a wide-ranging career in stand-up, film, and television.
On screen, Ben Stiller cast him to play himself in "Zoolander," and his other film credits include "Johnson Family Vacation," "The Cook Out" with Queen Latifah, "Phat Girlz" starring Monique, and "Soul Plane" alongside Snoop Dogg. He is perhaps best known as the "7UP Guy" in the national 7UP campaign, and has appeared on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," starred in the Comedy Central special "Godfrey: Black By Accident," recurred on FX's "Louie," led the FX pilot "Bronx Warrants," developed an animated pilot for FOX, and appeared regularly on "Shaquille O'Neal's Upload" on TruTV.
His one-man show, The Godfrey Complex, was a hit at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, after which GQ Magazine named him one to watch. He headlines prominent clubs including The Comedy Cellar, the Comic Strip, Caroline's Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory, and The Improv in Los Angeles.
