Godfrey
StandUpLive Phoenix, Phoenix
Godfrey grew up in Chicago, where his Nigerian parents inadvertently fueled his comedic instincts by introducing him to classic comedy films early on. He honed his style performing impressions of college football teammates before turning professional.
His film credits include "Zoolander" (playing himself, cast by Ben Stiller), "Johnson Family Vacation," "The Cook Out" with Queen Latifah, "Phat Girlz" starring Mo'Nique, and "Soul Plane" alongside Snoop Dogg. He is widely recognized as the "7UP Guy" from the national 7UP campaign, has performed on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," and starred in his own Comedy Central hour-long special, "Godfrey: Black By Accident." Additional television work includes a recurring role on FX's "Louie," a lead role in the FX pilot "Bronx Warrants," an animated pilot for FOX, and regular appearances on "Shaquille O'Neal's Upload" on TruTV.
On the live circuit, his one-man show The Godfrey Complex was a hit at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. He headlines clubs including The Comedy Cellar, the Comic Strip, Caroline's Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory, and The Improv in Los Angeles.
