$20 Interview- Young adults’ emotion coping using AI chatbots

Austin

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin are studying how young adults experience and cope with emotions during their mental health care-seeking journey, including the role of AI chatbots in supporting those processes.

To be eligible, participants must: be between 18 and 25 years old; have or have had mental health concerns such as depression or anxiety (self-perception only — no official diagnosis required); have used an AI chatbot (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) to cope with emotions; and be fluent in spoken English.

Interviews last no more than 60 minutes and are conducted on the UT Austin campus, or via Zoom if needed, at a time convenient for you. Participants receive a $20 Amazon gift card upon completion.
