AHA BLS Instructor Candidate Course
NUR 1.106, Austin
This course prepares participants to become an American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor, qualified to facilitate group learning and teach complex BLS concepts. All sessions run 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM at NUR 1.106, UT Austin School of Nursing, on the following dates: Thursday, February 12, 2026 · Thursday, May 14, 2026 · Thursday, August 20, 2026 · Thursday, November 12, 2026.
Registration fees vary by affiliation: $100 for UT Affiliates, $200 for Non-Profit Organizations, $350 for Government Contractors, and $450 for Individuals.
Upon successful completion, instructors are authorized to teach all AHA BLS courses, including Heartsaver CPR/AED, Family & Friends CPR, K-12 Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid, and Pediatric First Aid. Note that instructor candidates must complete all requirements and align with an AHA-approved primary Training Center (TC) before teaching any course beyond the initial monitored course; only TC-aligned instructors may issue course completion cards.
