Civil & Environmental Engineering Summer camp with J-U-B Engineers (Ages 14-17)
University of Nevada, Reno — HREL109/110, Reno
250
This camp, run in partnership with J-U-B Engineers, gives students ages 14–17 an introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering — covering infrastructure, roads, bridges, buildings, waterways, drinking water systems, and stormwater design. Participants follow the engineering design process to work through real challenges, and meet University of Nevada, Reno faculty and College of Engineering students along the way.
The program includes hands-on labs led by UNR Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty, with projects such as building a concrete canoe, using driving simulators, and 3D printing. Field trips to water treatment facilities and construction sites show engineering principles applied in practice. Visits may vary.
The camp runs Monday–Friday, 9 am–4 pm on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The cost is $250; credit card payments include a 6% surcharge.
